I wasn’t sure I’d have time to sit down and do the Thanksgiving Book Tag 2025 edition. But I squeezed it in! This is now my fourth year doing it (2022, 2023, 2024) and this year I’m choosing from books I read in 2025. If you’re not familiar with the Thanksgiving Book Tag 2025, the short rules are below.
Originally created by Anna’s Book Nook, here are the rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Give credit to the author (Anna’s Book Nook)
- Answer the prompts
- Tag others if you desire!
At the end of my answers I also listed all the prompts to the Thanksgiving Book Tag 2025 for easy copying and pasting into your own post.
Friends and Family: A Book with Characters that Feel Like Family

I always feel like I can sink into an SJM book and eventually they feel like family.
Fallen Leaves: A Book that Fell Flat (didn’t meet your expectations)

Unfortunately, SAME by Hannah Rosenberg, a book of poems about female friendship and motherhood, just didn’t resonate with me as much as I hoped.
Thanksgiving Dinner: A Book You Want to Read Every Year During This Season

I have the perfect book for this, so thank you to past me for reading this in February! LOVE YOU A LATKE by Amanda Elliot is a great seasonal read for this time of year.
Turkey: A Book With a Bird in It

I loved THE FAERIE MORGANA by Louisa Morgan. It felt so atmospheric during Arthurian time.
Ham: A Book that Made Your Eyes Glaze Over (Boring)

There were certainly sections of STARLINGS by Mike Stark that started to get boring, mainly because it felt repetitive. I feel like someone who’s more of an avid birder will have a greater appreciation for it.
Dinner Rolls: A Book that Melted Your Heart and Made You Feel Warm

This is a slightly tougher one for me because I don’t intentionally read things with the found family trope or anything super cozy. But I think ROLL FOR ROMANCE by Lenora Woods probably fits this prompt. So does THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA by T.J. Klune.
Mashed Potatoes: A Book With a White Cover

I meant to write a review for this book, but I guess I never got around to it. Anyway, I really liked this memoir about a woman who moved to a house that happened to have 30 or so feral cats living around it.
Gravy: A Book You’re not Totally Sure Why You Love, but You Do

I wouldn’t say I “love” this book, but I really liked the narration of it, especially of the sheep (“Four legs good, two legs bad!”)
Pumpkin Pie: A Dessert Book That You Love

No one loves tuberculosis, but EVERYTHING BY TUBERCULOSIS by John Green is a book I really enjoyed reading this year. If you haven’t read it yet, definitely hop to it! I also adored THE MILLICENT QUIBB SCHOOL OF ETIQUETTE FOR YOUNG LADIES OF MAD SCIENCE by Kate McKinnon. The audiobook is amazing and is narrated by the author.

I think I wanted to do this tag last year and forgot, but hey, maybe I’ll through a post together later today or tomorrow. Love You a Latke sounds wonderful😁
Hey, no worries…I almost didn’t have time to do this tag, either!
Ooh, the cover for The Faerie Morgana looks so pretty!
And I still need to pick up The Millicent Quibb book! Trying valiantly to finish my pile of library books over here before requesting more, but it’s a struggle!
I love The Faerie Morgana cover! I hope you get to the Millicent Quibb book soon…it’s awesome.
I’ve been eyeing that John Green book but my non-fiction last has grown so much this year and I’ve barely scratched the pile, ha. I’m thinking I’ll yoink it to my TBR after I finish The Anthropocene Reviewed 🤣 Great post!
I immediately added The Anthropocene Reviewed to my TBR after finishing Everything Is Tuberculosis. I’d ignored it for a little while because I mistakenly thought it was a long book, but I don’t think it’s that long. Plus John Green narrates it, so it’ll be another good audiobook to listen to!
Ooh! I totally agree about Animal Farm! I loved that book, and I’m still not entirely sure why. I should give it a reread …
You should, and if you like audiobooks, give that a try!
