This Week’s Question
Is there a book you keep coming back to, reading it more than once?
The short answer to this is, at the moment, I don’t have a book that I keep coming back to. The main reason for that is since starting this blog and joining the bookish community I have become a bit of a book hoarder. So I have a lot of books that I haven’t read, which means in my limited free time I reach for something new.
To be honest, though, I’m not sure I’d reread anything right now. (Sometimes, though, I get a hankering to reread 1984 or FAHRENHEIT 451.) I think it’s a combination of so many books and too little time as well as just life overwhelm. And by that I mean as an adult I have to work full time and do all the adulting type things whereas when I was a kid I had all the time in the world to reread. I also had limited resources, so if I read everything I currently had, well, then a reread it was.
That said, the most recent books I’ve reached for more than once is the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I’ve read most of them more than once, except for A COURT OF SILVER FLAMES because it’s long. I also don’t really like Nesta. Before that and way before a certain author showed her true colors, I used to reread HP all the time as a young adult.
How about you? Is there a book you reread periodically?
I’m not much of a re-reader, even when I was a kid, although in roughly the past two years I’ve done a bit more than usual. I think the books I’ve re-read the most for over a decade are Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion (though often not the entire book). They’re my ‘comfort’ reads!
