February 2025 Book Blog Wrap-Up

I started off February thinking I wouldn’t have a great reading month. But I showed myself that I was wrong and actually read 11 books. That’s pretty good for me considering this is a shorter month and I’m not a quick reader. Anyway, this February 2025 book blog wrap-up is your one-stop shop in case you missed any of my blog posts this month.

Book Reviews

I posted six book reviews in February. From earliest to latest they are:

Blog Statistics

Every month I share some statistics from Google Analytics because I think it helps put expectations into perspective for other micro-bloggers like me who are out there. These statistics are from Google Analytics 4.

My top five posts for total page views are (as of the evening of February 27):

  1. Book Review: Gild by Raven Kennedy: 538 views
  2. Arthurian Retellings Reading List: 481 views
  3. Book Review: Assistant to the Villain by Heather Maehrer: 461 views
  4. ARC Review: Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig: 288 views
  5. ARC Book Review Etiquette: 266 views

This month’s viewership statistics (~7,500) were lower than January. My hunch is that’s due to several things. The first is the holidays are over and thus there are way less recaps and “best of” posts going on; those drive a lot of interest. Second, February is a shorter month, so there are less days’ worth of views to contribute to the overall monthly statistic. However, after today I feel confident I’ll at least match or surpass (by a little bit) my December viewership total.

I also now have 233 blog followers now, which is awesome! Welcome, newcomers!

I finished two books that I had on my TBR prior to 2025. Those books are THE TELLER OF SMALL FORTUNES by Julie Leong and LOVE YOU A LATKE by Amanda Elliot. The rest were ARCs and mood reads. So, I didn’t hit this long-term goal as well this month, mainly because of my goldfish brain thanks to the news cycle. Hopefully in March I’ll continue to make better progress, though.

In case you missed it, I published a list of STEM-inist romance books!

I sold three books on Pangobooks this month, which is great. I have a bunch of books that haven’t moved in months, though. So tomorrow I have an appointment with my local used bookstore to take them off my hands. They only offer 10% of the cover price, but that’s better than nothing! Anything they don’t take I either donate to my library for their sales or to a Little Free Library.

Non-Bookish Items

I planted some seeds last weekend, the first round of crops I hope to plant this spring. The cooler weather plants come first, like anything in the cabbage family. My problem with these particular vegetables is I always start them too late, so they always bolt when the warm weather hits in May. I’m trying to start some chamomile plants, too, so I can eventually harvest them for tea. (And, speaking of tea, this year we might do our first small harvest from our tea bush!) In about a month I’ll start the rest of the vegetables (e.g., tomatoes, peppers, etc.) from seeds.

  1. It’s interesting to see that older posts get still so much traffic!

I think you got the author for Assistant to the Villain wrong: Hannah Nicole Maehrer 😃

I’ve been seeing Greenteeth a lot lately, so I might take a look into it. Maya and Natasha sounds intriguing!

  2. 11 books is fantastic. My February stats are always down too for some reason. Some of our trees already have buds and flowers on them and it makes me want to plant new things too! It’s too early up here though, so I’ll probably wait a few months.

    1. Our trees have leaf buds, too! But not big ones yet. Whoever makes the cherry blossom predictions says we’ll get peak bloom near the end of March…spring is coming!!

    1. Me too! I’m so glad it’s turned into evergreen content, which is also great because every now and then I get a new comment with another recommendation.

    1. It looks like you had a great February book wise. 11 is a fantastic amount to get to. Plus it looks like a wonderful mixture of books too.

I hope the seeds take well. I only ever plant flowers and really should look into if any generally get planted around now 🙈 Ooh I hope the tea harvest goes well and the chamomile. What a fun thing to try and grow.

      1. Yes, 11 is a wonderful number of books to read in a month! My reading is a bit more chaotic lately with respect to which genres I’m reading, haha. That’s a combination of reading novellas for SFINCS and me needing to find books that are easier to get into because of decreased concentration.

Seeds have started to sprout! There was a pretty low germination rate for the bok choy, which I think is because the seeds are so old. So I went out and bought new ones yesterday.

        1. I hope you’re enjoying the process of reading novellas for it 🥰 and I’m sorry to hear about your concentration. It’s so off putting when it seems to ebb.

Yay I’m glad to hear it. Ah I’m sorry to hear that. I hope the new seeds take better. I only really grow flowers and as all of my daffodils and my dahlia vanished I’m pretty sure the squirrel I’ve seen around keeps digging bulbs up 😢

  3. Very cool that you are growing your own plants for tea! It is my dream to have a yard some day so I can have a flower garden and grow some veggies – I’ll have to keep it in mind what kind of plants I might grow around here for tea 😊

    1. I love being able to have a garden. ^_^ Even when we lived in a condo we were thankfully able to rent an urban garden plot so we could grow vegetables.
