When I looked back at my March 2026 TBR I was shocked to see I’d read all of my priority reads! That made me very happy! I didn’t finish any of my hopeful reads, but I started one of them, THE DEMONIC INVENTIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE by Mara Rutherford. For my April 2026 TBR I plan to carry over some of those hopeful reads. But I also plan to focus on finishing the Throne of Glass series, which is a priority for me before the next ACOTAR book gets published. It’s also my birthday month, so I may treat myself to a Blackwell’s purchase. I have a list of books I’d like so I can put it one purchase and call it a day.
Priority Reads

THE DEMONIC INVENTIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE by Mara Rutherford: I started this ARC already and so far I like it. The magic system is interesting. Basically no one can invent anything since inventing brings demons into the human realm, so progress is basically halted. I also love this book cover!
QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas: This is 100% my next read after I finish THE DEMONIC INVENTIONS OF AURELIE BLAKE. I’m excited to see what’s next for Aelin. I’m also excited to get one book closer to not being spoiled on bookstagram.
THE GEOMAGICIAN by Jennifer Mandula: I’m a bit behind on ARCs, so this is probably next in my priority reads. “When a Victorian fossil hunter discovers a baby pterodactyl, she vows to protect him, with the help of a fellow scholar—her former fiancé—in this enchanting and transporting historical fantasy.“
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND by Beverly Gage: I didn’t realize how many early April ARCs I have!!! (Well, I have three, but it feels like a lot because I’m behind with other ARCs.) This was a widget sent to me, otherwise I don’t think it would’ve been on my radar because I have so many other things to read. I thought this might be an interesting read since this year marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. “Ride along with Pulitzer Prize–winning historian Beverly Gage as she travels the country to see the museums, historic sites, roadside attractions, reenactments, and souvenir shops where Americans learn—and fight—about our history.”
THE INFINITE SADNESS OF SMALL APPLIANCES by Glenn Dixon: I saw someone rave about this on bookstagram, so I had to check it out for myself. Especially since I was a Brave Little Toaster movie fan as a kid. “In a near future, where even the smallest of appliances are sentient, a young Roomba vacuum sets out to save the humans of her house from a rising technological power in this compelling, original novel.“
Hopeful Reads

With so many priority reads, I’m not even sure what to put here! I suppose I could include my May ARCs, which are ROLLS AND RIVALRY by Kristy Boyce and STRANGE FAMILIARS by Keshe Chow. I’m excited for both! (If the latter hadn’t been a Read Now option on NetGalley a while ago I doubt Berkley would have approved me for an ARC. IYKYK…)

Both Strange Familiars and Demonic Inventions sound really cool! I know what you mean about the requesting on Netgalley, so I am glad you could snatch it before.
The Throne of Glass series has been on my mind recently, if I’m being honest. Hope you enjoy that installment!
Yea, honestly I don’t really request Berkley books anymore because my requests just sit there for month before being rejected or I end up rescinding them, lol. Throne of Glass is next for me since I just finished Demonic Inventions!
That makes sense, yes. I never know what will happen.
Oh yay! Have fun with Throne of Glass!
I’m hoping to get to Rolls and Rivalry this month as well! Happy reading!
I hope we both like Rolls and Rivalry! YA is usually a bit mid for me in my middle age (lol), but these ones I’ve really enjoyed.
Very much same! It’s tough to relate once you’re old and cranky lol
😂😂
I just finished The Geomagician yesterday and really enjoyed it for the most part. I’m seeing both rave and bad reviews for it, lol, so I think it’s all about expectations. I’m excited for Strange Familiars too. I follow the author on Instagram and I think she’s a vet in real life. Hope it’s a good reading month!
Glad you enjoyed The Geomagician overall! The mixed reviews have me a little worried now, but I guess it allows me to adjust my expectations.
Congratulations on meeting all your priority reads for this month! I read three out of five because the other two were too intense for the moment. From my possibility pile I’ve read nothing. Because I actually didn’t have 2 of the books that were on there. Hope April will be a good reading month for you as well!
Thank you! Good job on reading most of your March priority reads, too, and for recognizing when to DNF books based on your mood. I hope April will be a great reading month for you!
I will be reading Geomagician the moment I get it from the library.
We both finished all of our priority in March! Yay for us! lol. I hope you enjoy the next installment of Throne of Glass. I’m curious to see your thoughts on Strange Familiars and The Geomagician because I’ve been interested in those, too. Happy reading!
Yay for us! I was shocked! When I make my TBR it’s a bit like a “set it and forget it” kinda thing for me, haha.
I’m curious to see what you think of The Geomagician.
Happy Birthday for whenever it falls this month. I definitely say treat yourself to a book you’ve been after 🥰🥰 your comments about finishing Throne Of Class after the ACOTAR announcements has made me realise I should really prioritise the Crescent City books before then too.
The premise of The Demonic Inventions Of Aurelie Blake sounds interesting, I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your review of it. I hope you love Queen Of Shadows. And I majorly hope that The Geomagician goes better for you than it did for me 🤞 I don’t think going into it expecting it to be similiar to Lady Trent / Emily Wilde helped though. The Infinite Sadness Of Small Appliances sounds very different to what I’d generally read but I’m curious. I’ll have to keep an eye out for that review too.
I hope you have a wonderful month 🥰
Thank you! Oh, I definitely treated myself to some books this weekend from Blackwell’s, hehe.
You should definitely prioritize all the SJM books you haven’t read yet. It’s kind of important to finish Crescent City, not going to lie!
I’m not expecting The Geomagician to be like Emily Wilde, so maybe that’ll help me when I get around to read it. But first, Queen of Shadows by SJM!
Yay thats wonderful. I’ve seen you’ve tagged me in a post about your haul and I’m working my way up to it atm. Very excited to check it out 🥰
Yeah I saw a spoilerish quote on Instagram in the past that made me realise that fact. I dont know how I havent managed it yet 🙈
I really hope it goes better for you then 🤞 ooh enjoy!!
I’m really excited for Geomagician! April is a pretty loaded month of reading, so I’m trying to take things one book at a time
I feel you! My April seems pretty stacked, too. I hope you’re able to get to most of your April reads!
