September 2025 Book Blog Wrap-Up

For some reason September felt like a long month. I don’t know why I feel that way…perhaps because I felt kind of busy? Anyway, I managed to read eight books throughout it all and post a few book reviews. So feel free to take a look through my September 2025 Book Blog Wrap-Up to see what you may have missed!

Book Reviews

I posted three book reviews in September. From earliest to latest they are:

Blog Statistics

Every month I share some statistics from Google Analytics because I think it helps put expectations into perspective for other micro-bloggers like me who are out there. These statistics are from Google Analytics 4.

My top five posts for total page views are (as of the evening of September 29):

  1. STEMinist Romance Books: 1,475 views
  2. Arthurian Retellings Reading List: 526 views
  3. Book Review: Gild by Raven Kennedy: 279 views
  4. Book Review: Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer Armentrout: 234 views
  5. Book Review: The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake: 181 views

This month’s views (~6,300) were about the same as last month, perhaps just a smidge more. I lost a couple of followers and then gained them back. So, I’m sitting at 260 followers (welcome!). Not really anything new to complain about with respect to SEO and Google core updates.

#BeattheBacklog

I finished two books this month that I had on my TBR prior to 2025. Those books are HOUSE OF SALT AND SORROWS by Erin A. Craig and HEAVENLY BODIES by Imani Erriu.

I finished eight books in September:

  • THE FAERIE MORGANA by Louisa Morgan (ARC)
  • HOUSE OF SALT AND SORROWS by Erin A. Craig (audiobook)
  • GET IT OUT by Andrea Becker (ARC)
  • KILT TRIP by Alexandra Kiley (audiobook)
  • THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW by Washington Irving (audiobook)
  • KATABASIS by R.F. Kuang
  • HEAVENLY BODIES by Imani Erriu
  • A MILLION QUIET REVOLUTIONS by Robin Gow (audiobook)

I’m proud of myself for reading all this considering three of these books are over 500 pages! I also didn’t realize that the THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW is a short story! The whole time I listened to it I kept thinking of that animated Disney(?) short video about it (if you know you know).

Other Media Wrap-Up

Murderbot: I finally activated my free three-month subscription to Apple TV to watch this. I thought it was entertaining, but I don’t think it’s a new favorite. (Don’t hate me!) Having never read the books, I don’t know how the show compares to the source material.

Non-Bookish Items

Happily, we have a ton of vegetables from our garden. We’re inundated with tomatoes and I can’t believe our two cucumber plants are still producing fruit! I’ve run out of containers to make pickles! We also harvested 10 of our 11 butternut squash and our one pumpkin. Clearly our two volunteer butternut squash plants had a good time! Since it’s just the two of us, we can’t eat everything before it spoils. So, I can and freeze when it’s appropriate.

We went up to Maine for Labor Day weekend, which already feels so long ago. The weather was perfect and it was nice to see family. For once I didn’t try to squeeze in a visit to Brookline Booksmith in Boston.

  1. I had the opposite experience with September, it seemed to rush by. I’m finally finishing up The Faerie Morgana this week and it’s growing on me! Not my favorite type of story (Arthurian) but I love her writing. Hope October is a good month too😁

    1. I didn’t realize Arthurian isn’t quite your thing, but at least you’re enjoying the writing! It just felt so languid and magical to me, I loved it.

  2. September seemed to rush by but I think that’s because it was so busy. October looks like being more the of the same so I expect that will disappear in a hurry too. Well done for reading your 8 books especially as a couple of them were so long. I hope that you have a good October.

  3. What a great reading month! There are some chunky books too!! Our neighbors cucumbers went crazy and we got so a few jars of pickles from her! I hope you have a great October! <3
