NOBODY’S GIRL by Virginia Giuffre: As expected, this book is so heavy. It’s so awful what this woman experienced, including when she was a young girl, all within the first 40 pages of the book. It’s so sad and disheartening that people like that are out there preying on young girls, including their own daughters. Just disgusting.
A CURSE CARVED IN BONE by Danielle Jensen: I’m determined to finish this duology despite soft DNF-ing it months ago. I couldn’t see myself picking up the last 50% of the hardback. So I checked out the audiobook. It’s picked up in the last 50%, but the first half was not all that enticing for me, which is a shame because I liked the first book.
Just Finished

MARGO’S GOT MONEY TROUBLES by Rufi Thorpe: I liked this audiobook a lot! This is probably going to be one of my favorite books of 2026. I don’t plan on writing a formal review for this since my audio processing isn’t as good as my visual processing. But this book tackles a lot of the ironies of living as a woman, a single mother, and as someone who turns to sex work via Only Fans. It also has some commentary on the legal system regarding custody battles, child protections services, how the legal system views different types of substance (opiate) abuse rehabilitation services, and more. I loved how the story unfolds…all these topics aren’t thrust in the reader’s face matter-of-factly; they’re woven well into the story. Anyway, if you haven’t read this one yet, I highly recommend it.
QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas: One more book down in this series, yay! The wheels are in full on motion and all the characters are crossing paths. I don’t think I’ll tandem read the next two books…that seems complicated and I’d rather just sit with one book at a time.
RAISING HARE by Chloe Dalton: My library hold on the audiobook finally came in after a nearly 3-month wait. I read most of it in January, but ran out of time to listen to the last 50 minutes of it. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot. I think I would’ve liked it more if I’d been able to read it continuously. But I can see why this is a crowd favorite.

THE INFINITE SADNESS OF SMALL APPLIANCES by Glenn Dixon: I think I’m going to read this ARC next. It’s on the shorter side for a novel and hopefully I can knock it out in a few days. “In a near future, where even the smallest of appliances are sentient, a young Roomba vacuum sets out to save the humans of her house from a rising technological power in this compelling, original novel.“

I keep seeing rave reviews of Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and now I might need it in my life!
Yes you do!! Go read MARGO’S GOT MONEY TROUBLES!!
Hope you enjoy your next reads!
Yay! I’m glad that you were able to finish Raising Hare at last.
I know I read A CURSE CARVED IN BONE, but I honestly don’t remember anything about it. lol. It sucks that you’re not enjoying it as much as the first book, though.
I didn’t do the tandem read of books 5 & 6 of TOG either. I still can’t decide if I would’ve liked it that way better. There are so many story lines going on in each of the books that it would be A LOT to keep track of all at once. However, having to get through all of book 6 before seeing how the ending of book 5 would resolve was tough.
To be fair, A CURSE CARVED IN BONE was boring compared to the first one. Freya was so annoying in book two, though I understand why (because of Bjorn’s betrayal). Doesn’t mean I liked reading it, lol. I had to switch to the audiobook just to finish it.
Maybe if I did a reread of TOG I might try the tandem read of 5 & 6, but idk, I can’t be bothered for a first read through. I’ll just read them as if I’m still waiting for book 6 haha.
