Before I jump into this week’s WWW Wednesday, I want to acknowledge that I hit my annual goal of 52 books read a few days ago! I hit this so early largely in part to audiobooks and judging a novella contest (SFINCS). But I achieved it nonetheless! I’m looking forward to knocking more books off my TBR for the next six months.
WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

THE WEDDING PEOPLE by Alison Espach: I didn’t mean for this to be my next read. But it popped up on Libby in the “skip the line” section, so I decided to hop on it. Otherwise, I’d still be number one thousand and something in line. I’m not very far into it, but I’m enjoying it at the moment. I expect this will be a relatively quick read for me compared to how long it takes me to get through fantasy books. “A propulsive and uncommonly wise novel about one unexpected wedding guest and the surprising people who help her start anew.“
A HOUSE WITH GOOD BONES by T. Kingfisher: I’m listening to this one via audiobook and I’m about halfway through now. The narrator for it is excellent and lends a lot of wryness and dry sarcasm to the story. I didn’t realize this has an entomological component, so I’m digging it. At this point I have no idea what the twist will be, so I’m just enjoying the ride. “A haunting Southern Gothic from an award-winning master of suspense, A House With Good Bones explores the dark, twisted roots lurking just beneath the veneer of a perfect home and family.“

CLOUD WARRIORS by Thomas E. Weber: I finished this one on Sunday. If you’re interested, you can read my review here. “The unprecedented inside story of the people pushing boundaries of science and technology to build better weather forecasts—providing life-saving warnings and crucial intelligence about nature’s deadliest threats.”
THE KNIGHT AND THE MOTH by Rachel Gillig: I plan to write up a formal review for this when I have more than ten minutes to do so. But, in summary, I enjoyed Gillig’s first book in a new series. In fact, I like it more than ONE DARK WINDOW. It’s less nebulous, so that could be why. It was a solid four stars for me and I think there’s a lot of potential for growth in the next book. This is “a gothic, mist-cloaked tale of a young prophetess forced on an impossible quest with the one knight whose future is beyond her sight.“

THE NIGHTSHADE GOD by Hannah Whitten: After I finish THE WEDDING PEOPLE I fully plan on reading this next. I’m looking forward to finishing this trilogy. I hope there’s a recap at the beginning because I read too much to remember everything I’ve finished in the past year.

A House With Good Bones was CRAZY, but in a good way.
I finished it today and enjoyed it! That’s my 3rd Kingfisher book down!
Yay!! Well done on hitting your target so early in the year. I’ve got the H M Long down for my next read but I might change that for Nightshade God depending on my mood. I hope we both love it as much as the first two
Thanks! I hope you like H.M. Long’s new book! It looks interesting, but I’m just too bogged down right now to request new ARCs, haha.
Congrats on hitting your goal so quickly 🥳!
Congrats on hitting your goal for the year! I’m glad to see you enjoyed Gillig’s latest release. I’m looking forward to it.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy THE KNIGHT AND THE MOTH when you get to it!
Thanks!
Congratulations on 52 books!!🥳
Thanks! ^_^
Exciting to see that you loved Gillig’s new book! I still haven’t read One Dark Window and I’m actually thinking of picking it up as my next read, lol. But I’m even more excited for her latest release. I’ve only heard good things! I hope you enjoy your current reads and whatever you pick up next 🙂
Thanks, Dini! If you do choose ONE DARK WINDOW as a next read, I hope you like it. It’s very atmospheric.
