WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading

Swordheart by T. Kingfisher

SWORDHEART by T. Kingfisher: This is the kind of cozy fantasy I can get into. This and Emily Wilde. They do spend a lot of time going up and down the same main road, but it’s interesting enough that I remain engaged. At this point I’m 75% through now, so I anticipate finishing it this week.

Just Finished

Nightshade and Oak by Molly O'NeillThe Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood

NIGHTSHADE AND OAK by Molly O’Neill: I posted my review on Monday, which you can read here. Overall, I liked this, but not as much as GREENTEETH, the author’s debut.

THE LOVE OF MY AFTER LIFE by Kirsty Greenwood: This was a cute contemporary romance. I thought it was going to end a certain way and it made me cry. But then it ended better. Nothing like a couple of weeks sent back to Earth to make you learn to live a little. “A recently deceased woman meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room, scoring a second chance at life (and love!) if she can find him on earth before ten days are up…

Reading Next

The Trident and the Pearl by Sarah K.L. WilsonFox and I by Catherine Raven

THE TRIDENT AND THE PEARL by Sarah K.L. Wilson: I had this book in this section last week, and it’s still here because I want to finish SWORDHEART before I start another book. I’m trying to get back to only having two books going at once: an eyeball read and an audiobook. “Forced by the gods to be wed. Forced by their secrets to be enemies. A desperate queen and a lowly fisherman must join together to save her land in this spellbinding romantasy from Sarah K. L. Wilson.

FOX AND I by Catherine Raven: This is my next audiobook read. I actually have a physical copy of this. But I have so little free time compared to how much I want to read that I do try to use audiobooks to help move my backlog along. “An “extraordinary” (Oprah Daily) memoir about the friendship between a solitary woman and a wild fox.

  1. Fox and I sounds as though it might have a bit in common with Raising Hare. I’m glad that you’re enjoying Swordheart. I loved it despite all of the travelling and am looking forward to the next one later this year.

  2. I’ve seen so many books around lately about women and wild animals, and they are all calling to me! The Fox & I sounds like another good one😁

  3. Okay, you’ve made me really curious about Love of My After Life. I’m also keen to read Swordheart—I’ve heard good things and it’s great to hear that you’re enjoying it too! I hope you continue enjoying this cosy fantasy and whichever book you pick up next ☺️

  4. I totally DNF’d Night Shade and Oak. Actually, Julie and I both did about halfway. I loved Greenteeth, but I struggled so much with this one. I’m glad you were able to finish it, even if you didn’t like it as much as Greenteeth. I hope you enjoy The Trident and the Pearl!

  5. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying Swordheart! That’s one I still need to read, but Kingfisher rarely disappoints. I’m a little bummed to see so many people struggled with Nightshade and Oak because I’m really looking forward to it. Oh well. I hope you enjoy your reads this week!

  6. I’m glad you enjoyed The Love of My Afterlife! (I did too!) I really need to read Swordheart – I picked up a copy when it came out and still haven’t touched it… which is weird, because I love the author’s books.

  7. I’m curious to read your upcoming thoughts about “The Trident and the Pearl.” Readers either liked it or didn’t like it. I’m still excited to read it, but now I’m keeping a completely clear mind for when I do get around to it.
