WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty GreenwoodNightshade and Oak by Molly O'NeillSwordheart by T. Kingfisher

THE LOVE OF MY AFTER LIFE by Kirsty Greenwood: This became available pretty quickly on Libby, which is great because I had to return it earlier before I could finish it. Looking forward to finishing this more lighthearted read. “A recently deceased woman meets “the one” in the afterlife waiting room, scoring a second chance at life (and love!) if she can find him on earth before ten days are up…

NIGHTSHADE AND OAK by Molly O’Neill: I’m just over halfway with this ARC. I liked the beginning, then I was wondering what was going to happen since the plot seemed kind of simple? I’m not sure what to think about this one yet since I clearly still have half of it to read. What I like is that it’s set during the early-ish days of the Roman occupation of what I think is southern Wales (into south England), based on what I remember from my trip there last year. The author even writes a story about how the Bronze-age chalk horse got there.

SWORDHEART by T. Kingfisher: I had a bit of emotional news yesterday, which threw me for a loop. So I reached for something that seemed like a more lighthearted and cozy read. I’m not too far into it, but so far it seems pretty whimsical, which might be what I need right now. “The delightful charm of The Princess Bride meets the delicious bodyguard romance of From Blood and Ash in this cozy fantasy romance from New York Times bestselling author T. Kingfisher.”

The Courting of Bristol Keats by Mary E. PearsonCount Down by Shanna Swan

THE COURTING OF BRISTOL KEATS by Mary E. Pearson: I ended up enjoying this a lot, which makes me happy considering there are some mixed reviews out there. It was well over 500 pages, but to me it didn’t really feel like it. I liked it enough to want to read the final book, which I’ll order from Fairyloot later this month. I wrote my review for this already, so stay tuned for that one.

COUNT DOWN by Shanna H. Swan: I actually started this nonfiction book months ago after buying it ages ago. Call it motivation to (slowly) reduce my physical TBR backlog. It was actually more approachable than I thought it would be. It’s a science book about how chemicals impact our endocrine system, more specifically how they affect human reproduction. It’s kind of bleak, to be honest. But at least the author wrote it in a more conversational tone for most people to understand it.

The Trident and the Pearl by Sarah K.L. Wilson

THE TRIDENT AND THE PEARL by Sarah K.L. Wilson: I’m trying to stay on top of my 2026 ARCs, so I think I’ll pick this one up next since it gets published later this month in the U.S. I’ve already fallen slightly behind and I still have unread 2025 ARCs. 🙁 Right now I’m toying with not requesting anymore ARCs from NetGalley. If I receive any offers in my email, I’ll more heavily scrutinize them regarding my time availability. Anyway, the blurb for this book is, “Forced by the gods to be wed. Forced by their secrets to be enemies. A desperate queen and a lowly fisherman must join together to save her land in this spellbinding romantasy from Sarah K. L. Wilson.

  1. The Love of My Afterlife sounds like fun, maybe because I’m looking for some lighter reads right now. And I’d love to get around to reading the copy of Swordheart I bought recently. I hope it’s good!

  2. Swordheart is brilliant although they do spend a long time travelling up and down the same piece of road😀
Your non fiction read definitely sounds depressing

  3. I’ve seen The Trident and the Pearl on lots of 2026 lists so I’d be keen to hear what you think of it! I hope that Swordheart gives you the lighthearted comfort read that you’re looking for, Celeste. Enjoy all your reads! 💜

  4. I hope you’re okay given the news you mentioned ❤️❤️

Its very exciting to hear that Bristol Keats went so well for you. Ive heard mixed things too but as a major fae fan I decided to take a chance and get a special edition…which i still need to read 🙈 im sorry to hear that Nightshade & Oak isn’t a total win yet, hopefully it’ll win you over as it carries on 🤞I’m glad you didn’t have to wait too long on the Libby title too. I look forward to seeing what you think of the arc too, and wish you the best of luck catching up.
