WWW Wednesday: December 10, 2025

I meant to post a WWW Wednesday last week, but I just ran out of time between Thanksgiving and personal things going on. So it’s been a couple weeks since one of these updates. But I haven’t read a ton, so this week’s isn’t terribly long even including 2-3 weeks’ worth of books.

WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

Currently Reading

I’ve been oscillating between a few different books depending on my mood.

The Art of Libromancy by Josh CookThe Everlasting by Alix E. HarrowGet A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert

THE ART OF LIBROMANCY by Josh Cook: This is basically a compilation of essays about the book-making and book-selling industry. Cook is a bookseller at Porter Square Books, an independent bookstore in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I’m not too far into this book, but the first couple chapters have been compelling enough. I consider this more of a backburner read at the moment.

THE EVERLASTING by Alix E. Harrow: This is part of my December TBR and at the top of my list this month. Again, I’m not too far into this, but I can tell the writing style and vibes have the making of a great story. I’m looking forward to reading this one. “…a moving and genre-defying quest about the lady-knight whose legend built a nation, and the cowardly historian sent back through time to make sure she plays her part–even if it breaks his heart.

GET A LIFE, CHLOE BROWN by Talia Hibbert: After loving THE ROOMMATE RISK, I decided to try another of Hibbert’s books. I’m reading this one via Libby audiobook and am loving it. It helps that the narrator is excellent with her perfectly posh and kind of snooty inflection for Chloe even though she’s not a snob! It has chronic illness representation in Chloe and historical toxic/unsupportive relationship representation in Chloe and Red. Witty is an apt description for how Hibbert describes things in Chloe’s voice. “A witty, hilarious romantic comedy about a woman who’s tired of being “boring” and recruits her mysterious, sexy neighbor to help her experience new thingsperfect for fans of Sally Thorne, Jasmine Guillory, and Helen Hoang!

Just Finished

The Entanglement of Rival Wizards by Sara RaaschWater Moon by Samantha Sotto YambaoA Novel Love Story by Ashley PostonThe Zorg by Siddharth Kara

I seem to have a pink and blue color theme going on here with my recent reads!

THE ENTANGLEMENT OF RIVAL WIZARDS by Sara Raasch: I didn’t mind this one, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would, unfortunately! I posted my full thoughts on this one last week in a review.

WATER MOON by Samantha Sotto Yambao: I finished this one on Thanksgiving. Overall, I definitely fall in the mixed review camp. I really wanted to love this one, especially because I have a gorgeous Illumicrate edition. I found the world building interesting and creative, but the characters felt two dimensional.

A NOVEL LOVE STORY by Ashley Poston: This was my first Poston book, thanks to Libby audiobooks. It was ok. The premise was interesting, but by the end of the book I was glad to be done. I thought it was about 50 pages too long. “A professor of literature finds herself caught up in a work of fiction . . . literally

SO THIS IS EVER AFTER by F.T. Lukens: After owning this for a couple of years, I finally read it! Go me! It was fun and lighthearted overall. I’m glad I read it even though the lack of communication trope annoyed me by the end. That’s probably pretty par for the course, though, for a YA fantasy romcom.

THE ZORG by Siddharth Kara: I attempted to read this via audiobook, but decided to DNF it. There were too many historical dates and ship knowledge to keep track of in an audio format. For me, I think it’d work better as a physical read.

Reading Next

Secrets of the Purple Pearl by Kate McKinnon

Whatever physical read I pick next will come from my December 2025 TBR. I don’t quite know what I’ll choose next since I still have most of THE EVERLASTING to read. With respect to audiobooks, next up is Kate McKinnon’s SECRET OF THE PURPLE PEARL. I absolutely loved listening to the first book and can’t wait to listen to McKinnon again.

    1. The Everlasting caught me right away. But I have to say I’ve slowed down a lot and don’t seem to want to be picking it up so much. BUT that could also be because I’m very distracted right now. I just finished the first death and am about to start reading the second part.

    1. I hope I enjoy it, too! I like it so far, but it’s not gripping me…which could just be because I’m busy right now and am all over the place.

    1. I liked the idea of A NOVEL STORY, but it was just a little too slow and long for me. Now I’m not sure I want to try another Poston novel. 🙁

    1. I wasn’t sure I wanted to try another Poston novel after A NOVEL LOVE STORY…but it sounds like I should give THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP a go? I’ll think about it!

  1. This series by Talia Hibbert is one of my all-time favourite romances. They’re all so good 😍 My favourite is a tie between the second and third but all of them are just feel good, cheeky, sexy romances! I hope you continue loving it too. The Everlasting is also on my TBR but I’m kinda scared to pick it up cos of how I’ve literally heard not one bad things about it 😂 I hope it lives up to the hype for you! Happy reading!

    1. I’ll definitely have to keep this Hibbert trilogy in mind when I want something fun and light, but not superficial. Hibbert is a great writer! And that’s a lot from me, someone who doesn’t care for contemporary romances very often haha.

    1. A couple other folks in this comments section also recommended THE SEVEN YEAR SLIP. So it sounds like I should try again with Poston. Bummer that my first go with that author was her “weakest” book.
