Top Ten Tuesday: Books With Springy Covers

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is all about books with springy covers. This is definitely a timely subject since it’s been pretty nice here in northern Virginia over the last week. The daffodils peaked and so did the cherry blossoms. Now we’re on to tulips and making my winter vegetables bolt in the heat! Anyway, keep scrolling for my selection of books with springy covers. This prompt was a little difficult for me since I don’t have a lot of books with “light” content. But I did what I could!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Books With Springy Covers

Adelaide by Genevieve WheelerFelix Ever After by Kacen CallenderThe Milkweed Lands by Eric Lee-MaderFunny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt

ADELAIDE by Genevieve Wheeler: The cover is springy. But there are lots of content warnings with this one. It’s about a young woman who falls for her dream guy, but she’s the only one holding the relationship together. Check out my review here.

FELIX EVER AFTER by Kacen Callender: This is about a young adult transman whose dead name surfaces at his high school. Great read even if at times I got annoyed with the high school level angst.

THE MILKWEED LANDS by Eric Lee-Mader: Love this nonfiction about milkweed, which is an important plant for monarch butterflies. The illustrations within are absolutely lovely. Check out my review here.

FUNNY FEELINGS by Tarah DeWitt: Spring wouldn’t be spring if it didn’t come with showers. At least, that’s the case here in the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a contemporary romance about a woman following her dream to make it big as a stand-up comedienne. She always found her manager attractive, but he was off limits due to their working relationship. Of course, a certain work arrangement challenges their control. I loved this so much I bought my own copy. Check out my review here.

WHEN WOMEN WERE DRAGONS by Kelly Barnhill: I have yet to read this feminist rage book about women who become dragons. But the cover looks sort of springy to me!

Throne of the Fallen by Kerri ManiscalcoThe Once and Future Sex by Eleanor JanegaA Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy I. LinTales of the Celestial Kingdom by Sue Lynn Tan

THRONE OF THE FALLEN by Kerri Maniscalco: I haven’t read this one, either, but it’s on my TBR! The standard cover might not look super springy. But I have the B&N special edition which is pink!

THE ONCE AND FUTURE SEX by Eleanor Janega: I absolutely love the cover and the fact that it melds two interests of mine: women’s history and medieval history. Can’t wait to read this!

A MAGIC STEEPED IN POISON by Judy Lin: This is definitely the section of this post where I haven’t read half of the things in it!! Again, this one is on my TBR. One day I’ll get around to reading about tea magic.

TALES OF THE CELESTIAL KINGDOM by Sue Lynn Tan: The covers for this series are gorgeous and this compilation of short stories is no exception. Check out my review here.

UPROOTED by Naomi Novik: This isn’t the brigtest of covers. But the rose on the front reminded me of spring. (I might be grasping for straws here, though, since most of my books have dark covers.)

What are some books with springy covers that you want to read?

  1. Great picks! I was surprised that a lot of my books leaned more towards dark tones too but I think you did a great job picking colourful books that call spring to mind. I love that cover of Adelaide and The Milkweed Lands too!

    1. Yea, I didn’t realize how many dark book covers I have! Maybe if I read more contemporary romance or general fiction it might be different.

  2. These are great choices! I love the cover of Adelaide. It’s always so stunning and simple, but not. lol. It was a great read too.

  3. The Once and Future Sex is also on my TBR list. I love when she is a guest on Betwixt the Sheets. I’m still way behind on Gone Medieval so I haven’t gotten to the point where she is a co-host. In general, adding History Hit podcasts to my life has been a lot of fun.
