As of this WWW Wednesday, my reading so far is at a steady pace. No records broken, but I still made progress. I finished an ARC and currently have a mood read on deck via audiobook. I’m trying to stick mostly to my monthly TBR and so far, so good.
WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

Currently Reading
A PRINCESS OF OLDIR by Bryan Wilson: This SFINCS novella is part of my November and SciFi Month TBR. Chances are I’m still reading this by the time this post goes live since I’m trying to finish two reviews before I take a short trip. Anyway, I like what I’ve read so far. It seems like it’s about a ruling family trying to stay in rule amidst disgruntlement at dwindling resources on a mostly barren planet.
THE EMPEROR AND THE ENDLESS PALACE by Justinian Huang: I already had the physical copy from my library. However, I opted to also borrow the audiobook when I realized I hadn’t yet picked up the hardback. At only a quarter of the way through, so far I’m enjoying it. There are a few different narrators for each character in their respective time period. I’ve heard it gets a little confusing, so we’ll see. “Across these seemingly unrelated timelines woven together only by the twists and turns of fate, two men are reborn, lifetime after lifetime.”
Recently Finished
BOSSYPANTS by Tina Fey:Â I finished this last Wednesday and liked it a lot. Definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of SNL or just a Tina Fey fan in general. I’m not sure which SNL cast member memoir I’ll read next. I know Amy Poehler has one and I think Kenan Thompson does, too.
THE BLACK HUNGER by Nicholas Pullen:Â I admit I didn’t quite know what I was getting into when I decided to give this one a go. This is probably one of the few gothic novels I actually liked, so I’m sitting at about 50/50 thinking about others I’ve read. Anyhow, I’m working on my review for this and hope to have it up next week. Stay tuned! “A spine-tingling, queer gothic horror debut where two men are drawn into an otherworldly spiral, and a journey that will only end when they reach the darkest part of the human soul.“
Reading Next
THE TIDELINGS OF DRAS SAYVE by C.B. Lansdell:Â Since I’m trying to stick mostly to my TBR this month, I’ll read this SFINCS novella next. It looks like it might fall into the SciFi Month category. “After a lifetime of adventures across Knyadrea, a large moon, his next planned endeavour will be unlike anything he has attempted…the Sayvians are the most technologically progressive knyads on the moon. Can Emis convince them that he will make a worthy mentor to one of their more curious juveniles?”
SEA OF TRANQUILITY by Emily St. John Mandel:Â Reading the above SFINCS novella won’t take up too much time this week. So that leaves me some time to start something else, likely this short novel. Since it’s not a huge book it’ll fit nicely in my luggage. (Yes, I’m breaking my rule of Kindle only on trips.) “…a novel of art, time travel, love, and plague that takes the reader from Vancouver Island in 1912 to a dark colony on the moon five hundred years later, unfurling a story of humanity across centuries and space.“
What have you made progress on this WWW Wednesday?
I can’t wait for your review of The Black Hunger! And just curious if you’ve read The Glass Hotel? Sea of Tranquility is sort of a sequel. Or maybe we’ve had this conversation before, lol.
I have not read The Glass Hotel. So I need to in order to understand Sea of Tranquility?
Ooh I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for your thoughts on Black Hunger as well as Endless Palace. I hope your reading goes well and it looks like you’re already working well on your TBR. I hope you have a nice trip too.
I loved Sea of Tranquility! It’s beautifully written. I hope you enjoy all your current and future reads 🙂
Excellent, another vote for SEA OF TRANQUILITY! I still haven’t started it hahaha.
Sea of Tranquility is great, I loved it! Glass Hotel has some characters referenced but you don’t need to know them to enjoy Sea of Tranquility
Thank you, that’s very helpful! Someone else mentioned a reading order, which was news to me. So I’m glad I don’t need to know about the character references in SEA OF TRANQUILITY to enjoy it.
