WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading TELL ME AN ENDING by Jo Harkin. It’s about a dystopian world where one can choose to have select memories erased and decide whether to remember you had the memory removal done or not. Only then people start having “traces” of memories that were supposed to be gone. This is another read for Mythothon. Hopefully I can finish it by the end of the month!

Recently Finished: The last book I finished was KAIKEYI by debut author Vaishnavi Patel. You can find my review for it here. It’s a retelling of the maligned character Kaikeyi from the Indian epic the Ramayana. I really enjoyed the themes of feminism, familial love, fate, and faith in this reimagining.

Reading Next: Next I’m going to read THE STARDUST THIEF by Chelsea Abdullah. I’ve already seen lots of reactions floating around on book Twitter. I’d like to avoid any spoilers and also finish reading and publish my review before it hits shelves on May 17 in the U.S. Publication dates for other ARCs sitting on my NetGalley shelf have long since passed. But this is one of a select few that I have a chance to read before publication day.

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading KAIKEYI by Vaishnavi Patel. It’s a reimagining of “the life of Kaikeyi, the vilified queen from the Indian epic the Ramayana.” I’m not very far into it yet, but my goal is to read and review it on my blog before its publication date of April 26.

Recently Finished: The last book I finished was WILD AND WICKED THINGS by Francesca May. This wasn’t originally on my Mythothon reading list, but I’ll probably swap it in for FOUR TREASURES OF THE SKY by Jenny Tinghui Zhang. You can read my review about it here. This book had a lot of hype on Twitter, or, at least, on my timeline. Ultimately, though, for me it fell a little flat and I didn’t connect much with the characters.

Reading Next: Next I’m going to read TELL ME AN ENDING by Jo Harkin. It’s described as a “thrilling speculative debut about a tech company that deletes unwanted memories, the consequences for those forced to contend with what they tried to forget, and the dissenting doctor who seeks to protect her patients from further harm.”

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan. I’m a sucker for these types of fantasy novels. If last weekend wasn’t so busy I’d probably have finished the book by now. The writing is descriptive, but succinct. Though I love lyricism in writing, I very much prefer this style as well. Plus I sense a love triangle coming on. Most excellent.

Recently Finished: The last book I finished was Out Front the Following Sea by Leah Angstman. I wrote my review and posted to NetGalley, but it hasn’t seen the light of day yet on my blog. It’s a historical fiction set in 17th century New England. It’s not something I normally read, but I must have had a flexible mind when I requested it on NG. Long story short, I’m glad I did because I ended up really liking it.

Reading Next: Next I’m going to read Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel. It’s a reimagining of “the life of Kaikeyi, the vilified queen from the Indian epic the Ramayana.” I know next to nothing about Indian mythology, so I’m excited to dig in and read this retelling.

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna. I’m about 75 pages in and intrigued, but also turned off by the cult-ish community the main character grew up in. Maybe I didn’t read the synopsis carefully enough, but I wasn’t expecting such religious intensity. This was a hot book last year, though, so I’m looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype.

Recently Finished: A couple days ago I finished The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton. Yesterday was its publish date and I recently participated in a blog blitz for it. It’s a historical fiction fantasy romance set in 19th century England. I absolutely loved it. It was witty, charming, spunky. It’s not something I would normally gravitate to, but I’m glad I took a chance. Now I want to read the first book in the series (but it reads as a standalone).

Reading Next: Next I’m going to read The Dragon Ring by Fil Reid. It was given to me for free as part of an upcoming blog tour that starts later this month. This is the first physical copy I’ve received from a publicist, so that in itself is special to me. Stay tuned for my review at the end of March! I need to swap this in for the Blast from the Past Tropeical Readathon General Challenge.

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Holton. It’s technically an ARC from NetGalley. I’m only about 15% in, but I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s witty and well-written. It’s sort of haughty in a period English sort of way, but the story doesn’t take itself too seriously. I have no idea what to expect out of this story, but I’m excited for the ride.

Recently Finished: Late last week I finally finished The Cicada Tree by Robert Gwaltney. I’m not quite sure how to describe it. It’s sort of like a psychological thriller, but less thriller and more manipulation? It’s not a genre I usually read, but I decided to incorporate it into my Tropeical Readathon list. I started it several months ago, but got caught up with other goals. Long story short, I’m glad I finished it. Now I just need to write my review and post it on NetGalley.

Reading Next: I meant to start The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna next, but decided I didn’t want to travel with a thick hardback copy. So I’ll star this next after I get home from vacation.
