2024 Mid-Year Reading Statistics

In January I put together a “Book Blog In Review” post. Part of what I included in it was statistics about my reading over the entire year. Now that we’re at the mid point of the year, I thought it would be fun to introduce 2024 mid-year reading statistics. What I included here is everything I’ve read leading up to this post. So, technically, I’ve included a little more than six months’ worth of reading. But I say that’s close enough! It doesn’t need to be an exact science.

If this is the sort of thing that interests you, then read on for my 2024 mid-year reading statistics! Most of my statistics and images are from Reader Voracious’s Ultimate Book Blogger / Reader Spreadsheet Template.

DNF: How Herbs Healed the World by Connor Smith

Today’s review is about HOW HERBS HEALED THE WORLD by Connor Smith. This, unfortunately, was a rare DNF (did not finish) for me. And it was an ARC at that. As always, I request ARCs with the best of intentions, but sometimes I just won’t click with one of them.

How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying by Django Wexler

Today’s review is about HOW TO BECOME THE DARK LORD AND DIE TRYING by Django Wexler. It’s the first book in the Dark Lord Davi duology. Davi is in a never-ending time loop. Each time she dies trying to do the right thing she has to do it all over again from the beginning. Sick of failing, she decides in her next life to become the Dark Lord. This, of course, requires minions and a trial to prove her worthiness.

ARC Review: The Nightingale’s Castle by Sonia Velton

Today’s review is about THE NIGHTINGALE’S CASTLE by Sonia Velton. It’s a historical fiction reimagining, with some magical realism, of the infamous 16th century Hungarian “Blood Countess.” She allegedly killed hundreds of peasant girls. This is her story, told primarily through the perspective of one such young peasant girl.

WWW Wednesday: July 10, 2024

I don’t really plan on making habitual WWW Wednesday posts again. But it is a good way to recap some books, especially when I don’t plan on writing lengthy reviews for some of them. That’s how I approached my last WWW Wednesday and how I plan to do today’s.

WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?
