August 2024 TBR: Trope-ical Readathon

Happy August! Instead of my regular TBR format, such as that of July, this time Trope-ical Readathon is my guide. You can learn more about Trope-ical Readathon and sign up here. So for my August 2024 TBR I plan to focus on these books below. Of course, I highly doubt I’ll read all of these. In a good month I read 10 or more books. But I can just hope for the best with my August 2024 TBR! Finally, once again I decided to join Team Fantasy.

Team Challenges

Team Fantasy
Team Challenge 1: Read a book with the “Talking Animals” trope
Team Challenge 2: Read a book with the “Unlikely Allies” trope
New Team Book: Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi
Old Team Book: The Dawnhounds by Sascha Stronach

I have not decided which books to read to fulfill the Team Challenge prompts. However, if I read one that fulfills either prompt, I’ll update this post to reflect that.

  1. I bet compiling this list was both fun and very difficult! Which one are you most excited to read? I’m hoping to read my first Emily Henry book this summer.
I would be amazed by anyone finishing all prompts.

    1. It’s gotten just a wee bit easier since this isn’t my first time doing this readathon. Some of the challenges get recycled and so I just plop some of the same books on here haha! I think I’m most excited to read THESE TWISTED BONDS. I really liked the first book & id love to close out the duology (finally).

  2. I’m doing this too – I’m on Team Contemporary/ Literary/ Historical Fiction which is a bit of a change since I usually do fantasy, sci-fi, or horror. 😁

    Enjoy!

    1. Nice! I tried switching it up one time to Sci-Fi, but I generally find more interested in the Fantasy team books. I don’t know why it matters because I’ve never gotten around to reading a team challenge book, but I can dream!

  3. I’m loving the variety of this TBR. I thought about joining this readathon but I knew I wouldn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to reading this month. I hope you are able to get through all of these books and enjoy them.

  4. What a fun challenge, good luck! I hope to read Masquerade this month as well 🙂

  5. I love when you do read-a-thon posts because it’s always something I think I’d LIKE to do but I’d never attempt because I know my reading is far too impulsive XD. So I get to live it vicariously through you here!

    1. Luckily this kind of readathon is pretty low key and low pressure, which I really appreciate it. So you should try it sometime! It happens twice a year!

      1. One day…in a bright and distant future…I’ll actually take you up on this! And there shall be rejoicing in the hallowed halls of libraries all around!

I mean, it’s possible I’m over estimating what it’ll feel like in my head XD. But I don’t think so!
