While I did a great job with my priority reads in January, I did abysmally with my physical TBR. That was partly due to traveling, so I prioritized whatever was on my Kindle. And it was partly because of all the terrible news, so I couldn’t concentrate on my picks. Instead I settled for a dystopian read (SUNRISE ON THE REAPING). Hopefully I’ll be able to stick more to my February 2026 TBR. Though, as always, I am a mood reader so I reserve the right to change my reading around. 🙂

January was a full month for book releases and February is no different, apparently! I have a dozen books to share in my list of anticipated February 2026 book releases. As usual, the books are mostly fantasy and I of course won’t be able to get to all of them no matter how much I want to. I do have a couple ARCs from the list, which I need to tackle soon. Happy New Year, everyone! To start off my January 2026 TBR, I plan to first focus on the two ARCs I have with January publication dates. I took a three-month hiatus at the end of 2025 to focus on books I purchased and it was lovely to do so. So the ARCs are my priority reads with the rest included below as hopefuls. I’ve been thinking it’d be fun to choose one nonfiction, one book subscription, and one random book from my shelves to read each month in addition to any potential ARCs. It’s not easy to avoid the shiny distraction of new releases, but I need to try better to get through my own physical backlog!

My December 2025 TBR is purely all hopeful reads. The holiday season is busy and I don’t want to pressure myself to a bunch of ARC commitments (even though I’m behind). Most of the books on my December 2025 TBR are books I’ve owned for a while. So if I get to them it’ll be nice to cross off even more from my unread physical book pile. Anyway, these are all fantasy books except for one historical fiction.

For my November 2025 TBR I want to focus on books that are cozy or cozy adjacent. I had a great reading month in October going off script from my normal fantasy reads. So I thought I’d more or less continue in that vein. These are mostly fantasy, but lighter fantasy, which is something I don’t read too often. I also have a goal this month to lighten my mental load and a cozy TBR is part of that. That includes not worrying about ARCs unless the mood strikes me.
