I’m back with another and final list of 2024 favorites. Earlier I curated a list of my favorite backlist reads of 2024. Now I have a list of my favorite books published in 2024. I separated the list into fiction and nonfiction favorites for easy navigation. Not all of these received five stars from me, but I either loved them or they impacted me a lot (or both).

Usually I list all of my favorite reads from a particular year in one post (like in 2023, for example). However, I saw a few people make a separate post for their favorite backlist reads of 2024. So, I thought I would also make a post for my favorite backlist reads of 2024. Not all of these are five-star reads, but they’re all ones that I enjoyed or stuck with me a while after I read them. I separated them into “fiction” and “nonfiction,” but other than that they’re in no particular order.

With 2024 out the door and those goals completed (or not), it’s now time to make a new set of bookish goals in 2025. Most of these are the same as last year, but it’s a good way to hold myself accountable. I don’t really do reading challenges anymore, so there’s none of that here. Rather, my goals focus more on tracking reading and spending and motivating myself to read my physical backlog.

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope this year is better for everyone, myself included! I did ok with my December TBR and finished two books while DNF another. In January I have a lot going on health-wise, so if I get to everything on my January 2025 TBR, then I will be very impressed and surprised with myself. As I mentioned in my December wrap-up, I get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow. And later in the month I have other things going on. So, while my January 2025 TBR consists mostly of SFINCS Round 2 novellas, I really hope to get to a few other books, too. However, if I can’t, then I’ll have to give myself some grace.

December felt super busy and Christmas really snuck up on me. I attribute that mainly to the fact we were on vacation for the first week of the month.
