STEMinist Romance Books

Outside of fantasy, I don’t typically read a lot of romance books. However, when I do, I tend to gravitate toward STEMinist romance books. STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEMinist combines STEM with the concept of feminism. In other words, a STEMinist is someone who supports gender equity in STEM, which are fields typically dominated by men.

Lately, author Ali Hazelwood has put STEMinist romance books on the map. She probably isn’t the first author to publish these types of books, but her recent works certainly increased their popularity. So, in the spirit of STEMinism, here’s a list of STEMinist romance books to dig in to. This list focuses on STEMinist romance books where the women are in the STEM field. The last category of STEMinist-adjacent books includes romances that contain STEM elements. However, either the female main character does not have a STEM job or the topic is tangential to STEM (e.g., gaming). Let me know some of your favorites in the comments!

Books I DNF in 2024

Now in its fourth year, I present to you a list of books I DNF in 2024. As I mentioned in 2021, 2022, and 2023, this is not a “worst of” list. Anyone can DNF at book at any time for any reason. Sometimes I DNF because I’m not enjoying the book. Other times I DNF because I’m just not in the right mood for a particular book at that particular time. Basically, what doesn’t float my boat might float someone else’s.

I actually DNF quite a few books this year relative to previous years. I think I’m starting to embrace the philosophy of, “life is too short to read books you’re not enjoying.” So, without further ado, here’s my list of books I DNF in 2024.

February 2025 TBR

I feel pretty good about what I read last month and even threw in some extras. So, now it’s time to look at my February 2025 TBR. This may or may not be a slower reading month depending on how I physically feel while I recover from a more invasive procedure.

Favorite Books Published in 2024

I’m back with another and final list of 2024 favorites. Earlier I curated a list of my favorite backlist reads of 2024. Now I have a list of my favorite books published in 2024. I separated the list into fiction and nonfiction favorites for easy navigation. Not all of these received five stars from me, but I either loved them or they impacted me a lot (or both).
