Call for Guest Posts for the Book Blogger Support Challenge

This year I’m participating in the “Support Book Bloggers” Challenge, run by Pages Unbound. The idea is simple: to support book bloggers by reading blog posts, sharing them, commenting on them, and boosting them in other ways. Each month there’s a “challenge” or prompt on how to support book bloggers during that time.

The challenge for September is to write a guest post for a blog or feature a guest post on your own blog. I’d love to have a few guest posts on my blog, so if you’re interested, let me know. I’ll then tell you where to email it! I’d love to feature a minimum of one guest post, but am happy to feature more. Participants would need to create a post in a relatively short order of time by September 20, simply because I didn’t plan this well. 😉

What type of post would you write as a guest feature? I thought a “Meet the Book Blogger” type of post would be fun, particularly if you’re a relatively new blogger to the community. However, that’s not mandatory, and if you have another idea, just let me know. But if you’re interested in a “Meet the Book Blogger” type of guest post, here are the questions:

  1. What is your name (and pronouns, e.g., she/her), in what country are you based (if you feel comfortable sharing), and where can we find your blog? List any other social media you may have, if you like.
  2. What genres do you typically read and/or avoid?
  3. What are some of your favorite books to recommend to others?
  4. What inspired you to start your book blog?
  5. Who are some of your favorite book bloggers?
  6. What are some other hobbies you have in addition to reading?
  7. A free space to mention anything else you’d like the book blogging community to know about you.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Sundays in Bed With…The Atlas Six

The Sundays in Bed With… meme, hosted by Midnight Book Girl, dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

This was one of the first (or the first?) book I received once I subscribed to the Fairyloot Adult book only service. While I generally don’t like to read reviews of books that I’ll likely read down the road, I did skim read a few reviews for this book for a general impression. Overall the reactions seemed very average/muted, which is why, among other reasons, I put off reading this book. However, Fairyloot announced there will be a special edition for its sequel, which goes on sale at the end of September. I decided this was the impetus I needed to read it. If I end up enjoying it, I may spring for the conclusion to this series.

Book Blogger Hop: September 2-8

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

Sundays in Bed With…How the Penguins Saved Veronica

The Sundays in Bed With… meme, hosted by Midnight Book Girl, dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

How the Penguins Saved Veronica

This is part of my August TBR and is one I need to read and give back to a family member by this weekend. I’m about half way through and enjoying it. It’s not something I’d typically pick up for myself. But at the same time it’s also nice to read in a different genre every now and then. I remember seeing this book floating around on book Twitter when I first joined and it’s been on my TBR a while. I love how curmudgeonly the main character is, yet at the same time she’s very self aware about it.
