My December 2025 TBR is purely all hopeful reads. The holiday season is busy and I don’t want to pressure myself to a bunch of ARC commitments (even though I’m behind). Most of the books on my December 2025 TBR are books I’ve owned for a while. So if I get to them it’ll be nice to cross off even more from my unread physical book pile. Anyway, these are all fantasy books except for one historical fiction.
December 2025 TBR Hopefuls

THE ADVENTURES OF AMINA AL-SIRAFI by Shannon Chakraborty: I saw that next year another book will come out in what I guess is now a series! So it’s time I jump aboard and see what the hype is all about. I have a special edition of this book, too, so it’s another good excuse to read from my own shelves. “…a new trilogy of magic and mayhem on the high seas in this tale of pirates and sorcerers, forbidden artifacts and ancient mysteries, in one woman’s determined quest to seize a final chance at glory—and write her own legend.“
HOW TO LOSE A GOBLIN IN TEN DAYS by Jessie Sylva: I seem to be taking time away from ARCs, but at some point I need to make progress again. This looks like a nice, easy one to jump into. And it’s a standalone, thank goodness. “…the cozy tale of a halfling and a goblin who must learn to love each other despite their differences.“
THE EVERLASTING by Alix E. Harrow: I’ve been seeing this all over the place, so FOMO made me purchase a copy from Pangbooks. This is the year of lady knights, apparently! Only this one has time travel. “…a moving and genre-defying quest about the lady-knight whose legend built a nation, and the cowardly historian sent back through time to make sure she plays her part–even if it breaks his heart.“
THE COURTING OF BRISTOL KEATS by Mary E. Pearson: This book is a chonk! It’s not as high on my list of hopeful reads, but I’d like to read it before Fairyloot a potential announcement that they’ve picked up the sequel. I’ve seen a few mixed things about this book, so we’ll see what I think! “…a THRILLING ROMANTIC FANTASY full of dangerous fae, dark secrets, and addictive romance—the first book in a duology.”
QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas: I’m still slowly working my way through the Throne of Glass series. I finished the last book in early October, so it’s time to jump back in before I forget everything.

I loved The Everlasting, and I’m not a fan of lady knight books at all, lol. I also would love to read The Adventures of Amina, I’ve had a copy for years!
Oh, that’s good to know you liked it despite not really being into the lady knight trend! In typical fashion for me, the first book I picked up for this month is not on my TBR list, lol!
I really loved the Adventures of Amina and can’t wait to read the new one next year. I hope you enjoy working your way through The Throne of Glass. I was really surprised to see a trailer for Sarah J Maas at the cinema yesterday. I’m sure that I’ve never seen an author trailer before. I guess they think that Wicked fans will be Sarah Maas’s target audience too.
That’s odd to see a trailer for SJM at the cinema! I didn’t even know that was a thing for authors. Hm. What was it a trailer about? Just her books in general?
Yes. It showed all three of her series with dramatic music. I’ve never seen anything like it before
That’s pretty funny…it’s not like she really needs the extra PR. She & Bloomsbury have made loads already lol.
Ooh, I’ve got El-Sirafi, Everlasting, and Bristol Keats on my TBR still for this year and I’m hoping to read at least one of them. I kind of want to pick Everlasting but part of me is also resisting because of the hype. 😅 I hope you love all of these whenever you get to them!
What a coincidence! I’d offer to do a buddy read, but girl, I am not in the right headspace right now. I’m bouncing around with reads at the moment and haven’t even started the month with this TBR list lol!!!
I am really curious and excited for How To Lose A Goblin in Ten Days! I hope you will love it!
Me too! I hope it’s a good cozy read.
Good luck! I loved The Everlasting, hope you do too!
Thanks! I hope I love it, too!
All of these are also on my TBR! The only one I’ve read it the ToG book (loved). I think the one I’m most excited to read from you list is How to Lose a Goblin in Ten Days. The premise is so interesting!
Then I must say you have good taste in books! 😉 I’m really enjoying TOG so far, but from this point out the books seem to get much longer, so I’ve been a bit slow getting to them.
I loved The Everlasting and I didn’t care for the other two knight books I read.
I’ve just started reading THE EVERLASTING, like really only 15 pages or so, and I like it already!
