WWW Wednesday: April 2, 2025

WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. MaasWhat We Fed to the Manticore by Talia Lakshmi Kolluri

CROWN OF MIDNIGHT by Sarah J. Maas: I decided not to pick up another ARC. I need a break from “assigned” reading. Plus I felt a bit slump-y, so decided to go to a comfort-read author. It’s time I continue on to the second book in this series anyway!

WHAT WE FED TO THE MANTICORE by Talia Lakshmi Kolluri: This is yet another audiobook I saved to my Libby TBR. This is a collection of short stories with animal narrators. I’m not a big short story reader, but the animal narrator bit piqued by curiosity.

Recently Finished

Tideborn by Eliza ChanA Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy MassCuriouser And... by Jillian Maria

TIDEBORN by Eliza Chan: This was a decently conclusion to the duology. I enjoyed the first one more, though. Keep an eye out for my review in a couple weeks!

A MANGO-SHAPED SPACE by Wendy Mass: My enjoyment of this didn’t change from last week and I felt this was a solid YA read about someone with synesthesia. Granted, I don’t have it, so I can’t offer that POV. But for someone who has it and is looking for something relatable, this might be a good option.

CURIOUSER AND… by Jillian Maria: This is a novella I read for the final round of the SFINCS contest. It’s a pretty solid YA light horror that reimagines Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. My review will be up later this week.

Once Was Willem by M.R. CareyBrewed in Magic by Jenna Wolfhart

This is tricky. I have to go on travel for work and I’d rather not bring physical copies of books. If I do it’ll likely be ONCE WITH WILLEM because it’s an ARC and I don’t care if it gets beat up in my bag. But I’ll also have my Kindle and a bunch of stuff to choose from there. Last month I started and quickly paused (because of other commitments) BREWED IN MAGIC, so I might also pick that up again. It’s a light fantasy romance.

  1. I’m glad that you enjoyed Tideborn at least enough to think if concluded the duology OK. I’ll be interested to read your review when it comes out.

  2. Curiouser And… sounds interesting and has piqued my curiosity! What We Fed to the Manticore also sounds very interesting and although I’m not always big on the short story collections, I’d be keen to see what you thought of it! Have a great work trip and hope you enjoy all your reads 🙂

  3. Sometimes I feel that and have to randomly pick something I have been wanting to read. I’m currently behind on ARC’s and that’s fine! lol I need to do a re-read of ToG at some point.

  4. Since the Throne of Glass series is currently being released in a new print edition here in Germany, I’ll probably delve into the story again soon. I’ve already gotten the first two books, but I’m still waiting for the short story collection. I’m one of those readers who reads the prequels first. So, it simply makes more sense for me to experience all of Celaena‘s emotions in the first three books.

Tideborn is still on my wishlist, but I want to read the first book first. Then I’ll decide whether to finish the duology. My TBR is simply too high to just let sequels settle in.

    1. I was told by several friends to read the prequel novellas after CROWN OF MIDNIGHT, I think, so I guess that’s what I’ll do! I hope the new German covers for the TOG series look nice! Personally, I’m not a huge fan of the new U.S. covers…they don’t look magical to me.
