December is so hectic, so I’m going to get straight to the point here (says past me from drafting this on Tuesday night). WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What have you just finished reading?

WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS IN THE LIBRARY by Michiko Aoyama: I can’t believe I’m still reading this, but so it is. I’ve been in a weird reading mood. December is so busy that I read maybe 25-40 pages a night, tops. And it’s sort of making me feel like I’m in a slump. Anyway, this book is a light enough read. It won’t be a 2024 favorite, but it’s fine.
THAT LIBRARIAN by Amanda Jones: I hate to say it, but I’m very close to DNF this, which is a shame because the subject (book banning) is important. At 100 pages in, I wish the editor had told the author to whittle down the story to mainly just talk about her defamation lawsuit. Instead it feels like Jones is trying to prove her character to the reader and it is very repetitive.
SONG OF SILVER, FLAME LIKE NIGHT by Amelie Wen Zhao: I have a special edition of this book, but there just aren’t enough hours in the day. So I borrowed this in audiobook format from my library. I like it so far. I think I like it more via audiobook than when I tried to read the first few pages with my eyes. “In a fallen kingdom, one girl carries the key to discovering the secrets of her nation’s past–and unleashing the demons that sleep at its heart. An epic fantasy series inspired by the mythology and folklore of ancient China.“

DREAMS OF SORROW by Shauna Lawless: This is a novella in the Gael Song series that takes place after the second book. So don’t start the series with this novella or you’ll be very confused. As usual, Lawless crafted a great backstory into a character that seems to be a bit of a villain now.

A FEATHER SO BLACK by Lyra Selene: This didn’t change from last week, so same answer again. But I have Christmas travel coming up, so I might also switch to a book that isn’t a special edition. Chaos reigns.
My current reading status hasn’t changed much either, lol. Wrapping, decorating and trying to plan for Christmas dinner is a lot, plus working full time of course😉
Omg yes the whole working full time thing already eats up a good portion of the day 😂. I’m exhausted right now. I hope you find some time to sit down for a little bit after Christmas!
I’ve been feeling much the same with the weird reading mood! I read Song of Silver Flame last year and really enjoyed the duology. I hope you continue enjoying the audiobook and that you find something great to capture your attention!
Glad I’m not the only one in a weird reading mood! I know Tammy (who commented earlier) is also feeling similarly. Anyway, still liking Song of Silver, I just have barely been able to listen to it! T_T
I enjoyed What you are looking for is in the Library. It’s probably my favourite of that type of multi storied book that seems so popular at the moment. Sorry that you aren’t enjoying The Librarian a bit more. Hopefully it will improve, if not ………. Remember that life is too short for dull books. 😃
I DNF That Librarian last night. You’re right that life is too short for dull books. There’s a chance I might’ve kept going if I wasn’t feeling a bit stressed, but oh well!
I DNF’d the Tucci book this week too. Seriously underwhelming ☹️
Oh no, I’m sorry! I hope you’re reading something better now!
I’ve just finished The Grave Empire which was definitely better.
