Trope-ical Readathon March 2024

I think this is my fifth time participating in Trope-ical Readathon. So bring it on, Trope-ical Readathon March 2024 season! I decided to stay in Team Fantasy again, mainly because I already own one of the books in the Team Challenges. Below are the Common Challenges and Team Challenges for this round. All Trope-icale Readathon March 2024 rules and information are here. You can register through March 10 at 11:59 pm (US Central Time).

Team Challenge 2: Read a book with the “Powerful Artifact” trope
New Team Book: Faebound by Saara El-Arifi
Old Team Book: Year of the Reaper by Makiia Lucier

For Team Challenge 1 I chose SHANGHAI IMMORTAL by A.Y. Chao.

For Team Challenge 2 I chose ELRIC OF MELNIBONE (Book 1) by Michael Moorcock. [DONE]

I suppose this also more or less serves as my March TBR list. Or, rather, supplemental material. Do you plan to participate in Trope-ical Readathon March 2024? Let me know if you plan to read any of the books here, too!

  1. I love the books you’ve picked. The Martian is so much fun, I loved Weyward, and Wrath is on my TBR. Good luck and have fun reading!

  2. This looks like a great month of reading. Elric of Melnibone really takes me back in time as I read all of them when I was in my late teens.

    1. I hadn’t even heard of Elric of Melnibone until I had to ask on Twitter for fantasy books with the “powerful artifact” trope. There are a lot of books in that series!

      1. There are. He’s written quite a few since I read them. I seem to remember there were several series with different main characters but they were all ‘the eternal hero’. I used to love them

    1. The Team prompts usually never stick out to me because I know I’ll probably never get to them, haha. So I only chose Team Fantasy because I own a copy of Faebound already.
