The Sundays in Bed With… meme, hosted by Midnight Book Girl, dares to ask what book has been in your bed this morning. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed, or which book you wish you had time to read today!
This Sunday I’m reading an ARC to try and whittle down my May pile. Check it out!
Evocation by S.T. Gibson
I wasn’t quite sure which ARC to read next, but decided on this one last night. I’m only about 60 pages in so far, but enjoying it. Personally, I like it more than AN EDUCATION IN MALICE. There’s more moving pieces in EVOCATION and something seemingly ominous already going on. It’s also set in Boston, which I love. I didn’t grow up there, but I go back a minimum of once a year to visit family and sometimes be a tourist. So it’s fun to see places mentioned that I sort of have an idea about. I believe this is supposed to be a polyamorous novel. I haven’t hit that point yet, but already there’s queer representation, including, if I understood the context correctly, a trans man. So, FYI if you’re looking for something to read with these elements!

From The Sunday Times bestselling author of B&N’s best books of 2022 A Dowry of Blood, comes a spellbinding and vibrant new series.
The Devil knows your name, David Aristarkhov.
As a teen, David Aristarkhov was a psychic prodigy, operating under the shadow of his oppressive occultist father. Now, years after his father’s death and rapidly approaching his thirtieth birthday, he is content with the high-powered life he’s curated as a Boston attorney, moonlighting as a powerful medium for his secret society.
But with power comes a price, and the Devil has come to collect on an ancestral deal. David’s days are numbered, and death looms at his door.
Reluctantly, he reaches out to the only person he’s ever trusted, his ex-boyfriend and secret Society rival Rhys, for help. However, the only way to get to Rhys is through his wife, Moira. Thrust into each other’s care, emotions once buried deep resurface, and the trio race to figure out their feelings for one another before the Devil steals David away for good…
This one sounds interesting. We spent a week in Boston last year and I loved it so might need to try this
Definitely do! I’m flying through it.
I saw on Net Galley but didn’t request it as I already had so many to read for May and June. Ah Well!
I’m very excited about this one! I’m glad to see you are enjoying it so far.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it.
Oooh I’m curious about this one. I haven’t read An Education in Malice yet, but I’ve seen it just about everywhere. This one more my cup of tea (and the cover is GORGEOUS). Happy reading! <3
aimee @ aimee can read
Agree that the cover is so pretty! This one is turning out to be more my cup of tea, too. If you read this one I hope you like it!
I really should start my May books too. I’m glad you’re enjoying this! I didn’t realize it was set in Boston, my daughter went to school there so it has some meaning for me.
I’m trying to make a big dent and finish most, if not all, of my May ARCs asap!
I’m glad you are enjoying this one because it had caught my eye!
