DNF: How Herbs Healed the World by Connor Smith

Published on July 18, 2024July 14, 2024 by Celeste10 Comments

Today’s review is about HOW HERBS HEALED THE WORLD by Connor Smith. This, unfortunately, was a rare DNF (did not finish) for me. And it was an ARC at that. As always, I request ARCs with the best of intentions, but sometimes I just won’t click with one of them.

Today’s review is about THE NIGHTINGALE’S CASTLE by Sonia Velton. It’s a historical fiction reimagining, with some magical realism, of the infamous 16th century Hungarian “Blood Countess.” She allegedly killed hundreds of peasant girls. ARC Review: The Big Freeze by Natalie Lampert

Published on June 17, 2024June 20, 2024 by Celeste5 Comments

Today’s review is about THE BIG FREEZE by Natalie Lampert. As the rest of the title explains, this is a nonfiction account of “A Reporter’s Personal Journey Into the World of Egg Freezing and the Quest to Control Our Fertility.” The focus of this book is toward those who want to freeze eggs for non-infertility reasons. However, the content is pertinent to both broad groups. This is an incredibly informative read.
