HOUSE OF ROOTS AND RUIN by Erin A. Craig: I’m still working my way through this. I hadn’t picked it up in over a week due to travel, but I’m really trying to get through it now. I’m starting to get bored. The pace is a little too slow for me. “A modern masterpiece, this is a classic Gothic thriller-fantasy from bestselling author Erin A. Craig, about doomed love, menacing ambition, and the ghosts that haunt us forever.“
Just Finished

TOWER OF DAWN by Sarah J. Maas: I finally finished this! As usual, SJM likes to pack her punches in the last 100 pages of her books. I expected that to happen. This was definitely a slower-paced book in the series. I didn’t mind it all that much. It wasn’t as flashy as other POV in the series, but it still has important information.
THAT QUAIL, ROBERT by Margaret A. Stanger: This was a quick, adorable read that I included in my September TBR. I absolutely loved reading about this little quail in New England. Highly recommend for a pick-me-up kind of read. It reminded me a bit of RAISING HARE. “The acclaimed story of the little bird that won the nation’s heart.”

I’m not sure yet what I’ll read next as an eyeball read. It might be LATE LIGHT by Michael Malay. Or, if I feel ambitious, I’ll read THE STORY OF CO2 IS THE STORY OF EVERYTHING by Peter Brannen. But I’ve got THE NEAR WITCH by V.E. Schwab lined up on deck as an audiobook.
