WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

Currently Reading
THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J. Maas: It’s time! My friend prods me every now and then to finally start this, so here I am, ready to join the club!
OPEN SEASON by Ben Crump: This is my latest audiobook read. I was browsing my library’s “available now” nonfiction section and this one caught my eye.
Recently Finished
THE AUDACITY OF HOPE by Barack Obama: Finishing this last weekend was perfect timing. It was nice to listen to a calm, reasonable voice. I miss that in politics.
GIVE ME BUTTERFLIES by Jillian Meadows: I finished this ARC last weekend, just in time to write and publish my review before it hit stores’ shelves. It was a cute contemporary romance, but fell short of the STEM premise for me.
GOTHEL AND THE MAIDEN PRINCE by W.R. Gingell: This is the latest SFINCS semifinalist I finished reading. While the dialogue was fine, all the other bits had a writing style I found distracting.
Reading Next
MARKED by R.M. Krogman: This is the last SFINCS semifinalist assigned to our team. I haven’t decided whether I’ll read it since all novellas assigned to us now have enough scores for this round. I have something coming up at the end of the month and I want to go into it feeling as calm as possible. There are plenty of other things on my checklist I need to do leading up to it, so if this is one less thing, then that’s ok.
I may opt to read something else, but I’m not yet sure what that might be.
I really enjoyed Throne fo Glass and the next one and then I started to get a bit bored with the series and never continued it. I think it must be something about her writing style as her books just don’t grip me the way other books do. Hopefully you will love it though.
I can imagine the Obama book must have been such a refreshing read after the statements that have been made over the past few weeks. I hope that you enjoy whatever you decide to pick up this week.
What I’ve noticed about TOG is that she wrote in complete sentences. It’s definitely a different style than ACOTAR. Crescent City is somewhere in the middle. So far I plan to continue and complete the series…I must!
As for the Obama book, ahem, yes, it was a refreshing read.
Yay!! I’m glad you are reading Throne of Glass. I love that series! I hope you do enjoy it. 🙂
I hope you enjoy your ToG journey! I’d read your thoughts on Gothel. Ngl, that cover really piqued my interest but what you said about the writing style makes me wonder if maybe it won’t be for me. Happy reading and enjoy the rest of your week!
I wrote up my review for Gothel…look out for it on February 8!
Open Season sounds timely and powerful. I’m looking forward to your thoughts!
I don’t plan on writing a full review since it’s an audiobook and I know my attention wavers when I listen to them. But I’ll do a micro-form sort of review in my WWW Wednesday or something!
Throne of Glass! I’m so excited for you to be starting the journey. I hope you end up loving the series as much as ACOTAR. I think I actually ended up liking it a little more. 🙂
Ohhh you liked TOG a little more than ACOTAR?! Hmm…idk, ACOTAR is a high bar for me haha.
What are you currently reading?
Pride or Die by CL Montblanc
What have you just finished reading?
Needy Little Things by Channelle Desamours
What are you going to read next?
Hopefully I Am Not Jessica Chen or Crooked Kingdom
I haven’t heard of most of these books! Just Crooked Kingdom, which I haven’t read. I hope you’re enjoying these books. 🙂
Thanks 🙂
The first two are ARCs, but the other one that I want to read next (which I just realize differ from what I put in my post… its fine!) is one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I highly recommend you look into it!
I loved The Throne of Glass series, I hope you do too!
I did! I became super attached to the characters in TOG. I also liked the overall plot of the series a bit better.
