ARC Review: He Who Drowned the World by Shelley Parker-Chan

Today’s review is about HE WHO DROWNED THE WORLD by Shelley Parker-Chan. It’s the final book in The Radiant King duology. As such, my review contains spoilers for SHE WHO BECAME THE SUN. This is a brilliant and satisfying ending that explores the power of grief and sex as well as identity. It is much darker than the first book and contains elements that some may find triggering.

ARC Review: Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Today I have an advanced reading copy (ARC) review of THORNHEDGE by T. Kingfisher. This is a retelling of the classic western fairytale, The Sleeping Beauty. Only this isn’t from the princess’s point of view, but from that of the often-maligned fairy of the story.

The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

This was one of the first (or the first?) book I received once I subscribed to the Fairyloot Adult book only service. While I generally don’t like to read reviews of books that I’ll likely read down the road, I did skim read a few reviews for this book for a general impression. Overall the reactions seemed very average/muted, which is why, among other reasons, I put off reading this book. However, Fairyloot announced there will be a special edition for its sequel, which goes on sale at the end of September. I decided this was the impetus I needed to read it. If I end up enjoying it, I may spring for the conclusion to this series.
