WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen. As I mentioned last week, it took a while for my library to receive their copies before they could lend them out. I’ve put a hold on reading The Cicada Tree by Robert Gwaltney because there are books with earlier publish dates sitting in my NetGalley “Give Feedback” section.

Recently Finished: I finally finished Prophecy of Love by T. Satterfield, which I received from NetGalley. You can read my review here.

Reading Next: Next I think I’ll read Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan. Its publish date is January 11, so I’d at least like to have my NetGalley copy read by then. Ideally I’d have my review written as well, but let’s not get ahead of myself.

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

I feel like I haven’t made much progress. A lot of what you’ll see below are books I’ve already mentioned in previous book memes of late.

Currently Reading: I’m currently still reading the Prophecy of Love by T. Satterfield and The Cicada Tree by Robert Gwaltney. Both of these are from NetGalley. I’ve shifted my focus more to the Prophecy of Love because it was actually published a little while ago and I should be a good book blogger and actually finish it!

Recently Finished: I’m excited to say that I finally finished reading Half Sick of Shadows by Laura Sebastian. I absolutely loved it! I dare say it’s even my favorite read of 2021. There’s a 99% chance that any sort of review I write won’t do it justice, but I’ll try!

Reading Next: After waiting for well over a month, Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen finally came into the library for me. I’m not sure what was going on behind the scenes, but it took over a month from the publication date for my library to change the status from “On Order” to available for pick up. Usually my county is pretty quick with getting new releases out to readers. This is purely speculation, but I wonder if the supply chain issues had some part in the delay. Oh well, it’s here now! I’ll pick it up by the end of this week.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

I haven’t posted one of these in a hot minute, so let’s get going.

Currently Reading: I’m currently still reading Half Sick of Shadows by Laura Sebastian. I really need to finish this one since it’s due back to the library soon. Typically I read one book at a time, but lately I’ve been reading multiple. So I’m also reading Prophecy of Love by T. Satterfield and The Cicada Tree by Robert Gwaltney. Both of these are from NetGalley.

Recently Finished: I just finished reading a NetGalley ARC of Immortal Souls by Phoenix Vieira. I submitted my review to NetGalley already, but expect to see it on my blog on December 13. As I mentioned in my November wrap-up, I also finished The Girl of Dorcha Wood by Kristin Ward for a blog tour.

Reading Next: After I finish the above books, I’m not sure what I’ll pick up next. I expected to have Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen in hand from my library by this point, but for some reason it’s still “on order.” My county is usually pretty quick with making new releases available for readers, so I’m a bit surprised that it’s been over a month since the release date and my library still doesn’t have it available. I can’t help but wonder if this might be related to supply chains? If I’m still waiting for this book to come in by the time I finish some NetGalley ARCs, I’ll probably just keep going that route.

What are you going to read next?

Currently Reading: I’m currently reading Half Sick of Shadows by Laura Sebastian. It’s marketed as a feminist retelling of the Lady of Shalot. I haven’t read too far along yet, but I’m already impressed by the writing style.

Recently Finished: I just finished reading a NetGalley ARC of The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart. It follows the first book, The Bone Shard Daughter. I expect to publish this review in late November or early December, so keep a look out!

Reading Next: I plan to focus more on my NetGalley ARCs for the remainder of the year. But Skin of the Sea by Natasha Bowen, a new release, arrived on hold at the library for me. So I need to read that first since there’s a hold list and therefore I’m only allowed to keep it checked out for three weeks.
