The Children of Gods and Fighting Men

I started reading this a couple of days ago and, at 40% in, am really enjoying it so far. I don’t have any guesses yet what will happen, but this chess match ride has me sitting tight. I’ve read a couple of books inspired by Irish mythology, such as THE DAUGHTER OF ERABEL series (1, 2), but this books also includes a more historical fiction element during a time of Viking and Irish intermingling.

She flees the town with a man known to her for years. But his French ancestry puts him at odds with a violent English commander in their new town. Ruth must figure out how to navigate the tension to keep him from going to the gallows.
