WWW Wednesday: December 25, 2024

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! This is an incredibly busy season (and I’m exhausted), but I hope everyone can find some joy somewhere, whether in the small or big things. I don’t have a huge WWW Wednesday update this week, but I finally finished another book, so good job, me.

WWW Wednesday was revived and hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses.

What are you currently reading?

What have you just finished reading?

What are you going to read next?

Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen ZhaoA Midwinter's Tale by Lili Hayward

SONG OF SILVER, FLAME LIKE NIGHT by Amelie Wen Zhao: I’m still working by way through the audiobook. However, I had to return it before I could finish it, so I’m back on the waitlist.

A MIDWINTER’S TAIL by Lili Hayward: I brought this book with me for my Christmas travels. Hopefully by the time this post goes live I will have started it! So, no thoughts right now since I scheduled this last Friday. 😉

Recently Finished

What You Are Looking For Is in the Library by Michiko Aoyama (translated by Allison Watts)That Librarian by Amanda Jones

WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR IS IN THE LIBRARY by Michiko Aoyama: I finished this Tuesday night out of sheer will. Luckily, it’s easy to read and the book is physically shorter in height than your average book, so it wasn’t too hard of a feat. Overall, this was a fine read. I liked it better than some other Japanese literature I read this year.

THAT LIBRARIAN by Amanda Jones: Please don’t cancel me (I joke), but I DNF this. I just couldn’t make myself finish it. For whatever reason December has just felt so busy and this book wasn’t doing much to carry me through the month. So into the DNF pile it went.

A Feather So Black by Lyra SeleneImmortal by Sue Lynn Tan

A FEATHER SO BLACK by Lyra Selene: Still this book! I didn’t want to bring it with me over Christmas because it’s 1) a special edition and 2) a larger book. I plan to start it right after Christmas, though. So hopefully by the very end of December I’ll be some percentage through the book.

IMMORTAL by Sue Lynn Tan: If I finish A MIDWINTER’S TAIL before my Christmas travels are over, I’ll probably start this e-ARC.

  1. Merry Christmas Celine🎄 Hope that you get some time to read over the holiday. Immortal sounds brilliant and I need to see if I can get hold of the ARC

  2. It’s annoying when your hold is due before you finish the book, I hope you can get it soon again. I am very curious about Sue Lynn Tan’s books, hope you enjoy all of these.
Have a fantastic Christmas holiday, Celeste!

  3. Merry Christmas!! I know the feeling about not finishing before the library hold is due. I hope you get it back soon! I hope you get some relaxing time over the holiday!

    1. Belated Merry Christmas to you, Leslie! Thankfully I got the audiobook back a couple days after I had to return it…guess the waitlist wasn’t super long!
