A very happy publication day to GLOW by Raven Kennedy, the fourth book in The Plated Prisoner series. I started reading this series at the very end of May and flew through the first three books. With each book the plot twists became more impressive. So I’m very excited to read the completion of Auren’s character arc.
If you missed by review of GILD, the first book in the series, you can check it out here. I hope to have my reviews up for GLINT and GLEAM in the coming weeks.
Now, let’s see what the official book blurb has in store for us.
From Amazon:
“I was nothing but a road to Midas. A means to get to where he wanted to go, and I paved that path in gold.”
My life has been made up of gilded lies. But death has been shaped from rot.
Like a phoenix caught fire, I will need to rise from the ashes and learn to wield my own power. Because my wings may have been clipped, but I am not in a cage, and I’m finally free to fly from the frozen kingdoms I’ve been kept in.
Yet the world doesn’t want to let me.
That’s the thing when you turn against a king—everyone else turns against you.
Good thing I have a different king in my corner.
But even with the dark threat of Slade Ravinger, the other monarchs are coming for me.
So I will fight for him and he will kill for me, and if we need to become the villains, then so be it.
Because so long as I live in this world, I won’t be used again.
Hi there,
so far I have read the first volume of this series. But I am not so sure if I’ll continue. Yeah, I kinda did like the story, but there was too much around it, which kinda made the whole book very long and partly boring.
Cheerio

That’s fair! After hearing about the first book through the hype train I also expected more, but was a bit underwhelmed. However, I finished reading the second and third books this month and each book introduces some shocking plot twists. The plot twist in book 3 blew my mind. What I’ve since realized is that this series is less about a quest and action and adventure; it’s more about the long game and extreme character growth of Auren as she begins to realize and harness her potential and love herself. If you decide not to continue, that’s ok! Read what makes you happy! 🙂
The good thing, I do have the 2nd and 3rd book already on my Kindle due to Kindle Unlimited, so if I decide to continue they aren’t far away.
But it’s interesting to hear, that some major plot twists will come up. That definitely sounds intriguing. Thank you 🙂
