Anticipated First Quarter Book Releases in 2024

Well, here we are! With 2023 gone it’s now time to look forward to anticipated first quarter book releases in 2024. January through February looks like a banger quarter for book releases in 2024. I think this is the most excited I’ve been about book releases ever. Will I read them all? Probably not. But I can dream about it! What I also love is that so many of the books that look interesting to me are also standalones. That makes me super happy because, frankly, I don’t want to commit to too many more series. (But that’s hard to avoid with the fantasy genre.)

I know a lot of bloggers already seem a bit stressed at the amazing possibilities. At the time of writing this post I have so far held off from requesting too much. However, my January looks stacked and I’m still digging out from 2023!

No matter, though. Let’s take a look at some anticipated first quarter book releases in 2024 that I’m looking forward to. I listed the books in the order they will be released in the U.S. If more than one book has the same release date, then I second ordered them by the author’s last name. Also, if you want more “anticipated book release” lists, check out mine from the first, second, third, and fourth quarters of 2023.

Anticipated Fourth Quarter Book Releases

October signals that it’s time to share my anticipated fourth quarter book releases. Given that list posts are not my favorite to do, I cram three months’ worth of new releases into one post four times per year. This is the last one of the year and October is stacked! Surprisingly, I didn’t find as many upcoming December releases that caught my interest. Or perhaps I didn’t stumble upon them or they haven’t been uploaded to NetGalley yet. If there’s something you’re really excited for in December (or even November), let me know!

Anticipated Third Quarter Book Releases

And just like that it’s time to talk about anticipated 2023 third quarter book releases! There are so many books that will be released in August. I really had to hold myself back from a requesting spree for books this quarter otherwise I would have been overwhelmed. As it is, I doubt I’ll be able to read all of my summer ARCs by their publication date because my summer is busy. After the discourse on Twitter about whether one must review an ARC “on time,” I’ve started to give myself more grace. I prefer to read and review an ARC by publication day, but it’s not always possible for a variety of reasons.

Anyway, I digress. Stay on target! Here are some of my anticipated 2023 third quarter book releases. Obviously there’s no way I can read all of these. But it’s nice to keep track of them nonetheless.

Anticipated Second Quarter Book Releases

Hello, April, my birthday month! So nice to see you! Tomorrow I will be solidly in my mid-30s and I’m not sure how I feel about that. Actually, I know how I feel about that and I refuse to further acknowledge it. 🙂 So, let’s talk books! Specifically, my anticipated 2023 second quarter book releases! This means I’ll list books that will be published between April and June in the United States.

Hang on, friends, because there’s a lot of fun to go around. There are a lot of books to include in my anticipated 2023 second quarter book releases, but I had to cut myself off. Of course, there’s no way I’ll read all of these over the next three months. But it’s also a nice alternative way, outside of Goodreads, to keep track of books I find interesting.

Anticipated First Quarter Reads

It seems like anticipated reads lists are fairly ubiquitous across the book blogging sphere. Or, at least, I personally see them often at the beginning of each month. However, I loathe formatting book list posts. It seems simple, but if you blog, you’ll understand all that goes into it. That said, I thought I’d try participating in this type of post. Because of my aforementioned dislike of formatting, I’m focusing on anticipated 2023 first quarter reads.

This means I’ll list books that will be published between January and March. All of the books below intrigue me, but I’m on a mission to read from my physical backlog. So, frankly, I’ll probably only have time to read the ones for which I have ARCs. But it’s still fun to look! And I’m sure I forgot some that I was eyeing. Anyway, onward with my anticipated 2023 first quarter reads…
